Bossa Nova Grill - Bosan Station 07/09/2010
A couple of nights ago DH and I were invited to go to dinner with a friend and his lovely wife, to a restaurant that served 'all you can eat' Brazil BBQ Steak. My plan was to go to Subway to have a sandwich, but DH was much more excited about the idea of 'all you can eat' meat. We were not sure about where the restaurant was, but were told that it was right outside the back entrance of Bosan station, and yes, that's exactly where it was. Initially, I was a bit surprised by how small the restaurant was. When we first went in, there was a group of soldiers there at one long table, and two couples at separate tables. Our table was directly against the beverage refrigerator, and so was a bit crowded, especially when the fifth person in our group came. At that point, we were moved to a back room. There was much more space at our table in the back room, and we were much more comfortable. The restaurant may be small, but it's comfortable, clean, and the music was just great. It was almost as though we had spent an evening away from Korea and in another country, like say... maybe Brazil. When you first begin, there is a salad bar available, and the salad is actually very good. I really enjoyed it. It was light, and refreshing. There was a bean dish that I did not try, though. I'm not much into beans. They also start you off with this delicious steak. It was cooked perfectly, and was very tender. Really, for the price of the meal, this steak and the salad bar would be sufficient. Lucky for all who visit this restaurant, though, that's not all that you get! After we had all had a chance to enjoy our steak the fun began! They started to bring out meat to cut off the skewers. We were all really impressed. I'm not a big fan of any pink in my meat, but for the most part we were able to really enjoy each piece of meat, since there were some cuts that were more well done than others. So, they bring these big skewers of meat out, and cut off slices for everyone. There are tongs at the table that you are requested to use to grab the meat as it's being cut, and then dish out to everyone. For the chicken and sausages, they'll usually just slide a piece of each off onto everyone's plate, well, unless you don't want any, but why would you not want any? It's so good. It really is a place to go with an appetite. Then, as if all of this meat, and the salad bar isn't enough, there is the dessert that you can order afterwards. We had been told by our friends to save room for dessert, and so we gladly did. Well, I did. DH isn't a dessert person, so I knew that whatever it was, I'd be enjoying it on my own. I was so happy to be able to take some photos of the nice guy who was making the dessert. It seems pretty simple. Caramalize some sugar, and butter, add bananas, fry them, then add another special ingredient, and put it over vanilla ice cream. Absolutely delicious! Dessert was delectable. We were warned that it was rich. I didn't find it to be too rich, but then again, that might be because I'm quite used to rich desserts. Really, it was lovely. I did enjoy taking my time eating it, though. Our experience at the Bossa Nova Grill was fantastic. It's not a super expensive place, but it's not fast food cheap either. Be prepared to pay for what you're eating, and then still be rewarded with even more. The service there is fantastic. They are so friendly, and happy to keep bringing you more and more food. We will definitely be returning to this great restaurant. This type of blogs is very recreational, call attention because of them you always learn something useful and not as in other blogs that are a waste of time and learn nothing.Congratulations for this blog and hopefully they are more like this, the material of common interest!
